This painting is of an Oglala Sioux warrior. His head dress is made of hawk feathers. His eagle wing prayer fan placed over a section of his face possibly to show he is protected by the Creator. He is dressed for battle wearing aggressive colors of face paint meant to frighten or intimidate his opponent.
