This is a Marwari horse from the Marwar region of India. They were created by combining native Indian ponies with Arabian horses, and they’re known for their pointed ears that tip inward towards each other. This beautiful horse, in its very simplicity, seemed so elegant that it required nothing around it so that was how I painted it. I love the stark contrast between the horse, the white background, and the sunlight bathing his body.
