Working with California hard woods and reclaimed metal, the artist’s inspiration for this piece is the history of the Native Americans living in harmony with the land. The focal point of the table is an exquisitely carved feather on a single piece of walnut. The in-laid miniature rock screen “tepee” shapes framed with twigs pays homage to their resourceful homes. Further carvings, textured surfaces, curved front apron, and splayed legs meld perfectly with the old school metal work the artist has fashioned to create a wonderful furniture composition. Traditional joinery and Old World woodworking techniques provide the promise of heirloom-quality endurance and design concepts that transcend generations.
