Inspired by the timeless architecture and iconic saguaros of the desert, this painting explores the relationship between light, form, and atmosphere. Bold planes of radiant yellow contrast against a brilliant blue sky, while expressive brushwork preserves the spontaneity of the creative process. The composition is intentionally simplified, allowing color and gesture to convey the warmth, optimism, and quiet beauty of the Southwest. Through this contemporary interpretation, I sought to capture not only a landscape, but the feeling of standing beneath an endless desert sky where sunlight transforms everything it touches.
