This painting is my depiction of a Dog Soldier. They were considered the bravest and fiercest of the Cheyenne tribe. They were in existence from 1838-1869 but no one really knows if they were ever truly wiped out like the U.S. Army tried to proclaim. This society is still in existence today and has seen a revival over the years. They are still highly revered and respected by the Cheyenne people.
