The Silent Hurt, Original

The hand symbol you see (over the young girl’s mouth) stands for a growing movement called MMIWG (murdered and missing indigenous women and girls). It is meant to represent all the missing sisters whose voices are not heard. It also stands for the silence of media and law enforcement in the midst of this crisis. Thousands go missing yearly with no answers and no help to find them.
I know that educating the public about this problem is something I am inspired to do. My art becomes a voice and a way to convey a message. I know we can all make a difference so I am donating 10% of the proceeds from my portion of the sale of “The Silent Hurt” to the MMIWG non profit organization called Native Hope in Chamberlain,SD.
